Tom Holland Reveals That Spider-Man: Far From Home Has Wrapped!

Tom Holland announced via Instagram that principal photography on Spider-Man: Far From Home has wrapped up in New York City. To mark the occasion, the actor shared three new photos to his account, one of which shows Spider-Man’s new black and red suit in action. He also uploaded a video to his Instagram Stories. The clip showed him thanking fans for their support right before jumping in front of the camera for the last scene of the day. Holland’s announcement comes sooner than expected, as earlier reports predicted that the film wouldn’t wrap until December.

Spider-Man: Far From Home reportedly takes place after Avengers 4 and will feature Peter Parker and his classmates spending summer vacation in Europe. Production on the film began in England on July 2 and continued in the Czech Republic and Venice over the next few months. During the overseas portion of the shoot, some fans were able to capture photos of a new stealth-based spider suit along with our first glimpse of Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. When filming moved to NYC this month, we were treated to myriad shots of yet another new costume that Peter will be sporting in the film.

Confirmed to be rounding out the cast of Peter’s Midtown High compatriots are Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson. Michael Keaton is said to be coming back from Spider-Man: Homecoming as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture. It’s also rumored that Better Call Saul‘s Michael Mando will be returning as the would-be Scorpion, Mac Gargan. Because of the latter two characters’ foreboding interaction during Homecoming’s mid-credits scene, we have to wonder if Marvel Studios is plotting a Sinister Six team-up for a future installment. After all, Mysterio is a card-carrying member of the Six’s classic lineup. Gyllenhaal could also prove to be an interesting addition to that group.

Now that filming is done, all that’s left now is to wait for the first trailer…or for the famously loose-lipped Holland to spoil a major plot point in a random interview. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5, 2019. You can check out Holland’s social media offerings below and let us know what you think in the comments!
