Dave Bautista’s future in the MCU may be a question mark at the moment, yet his acting career isn’t taking a break. The wrestler turned actor has a very clear ideas regarding his future in acting, with Bautista saying he wants to gain more credibility as a character actor and expressing his desire to “work with Academy Awards winners”.
“I want good roles. I don’t care about Fast and Furious or Bumblebee,” Bautista told the Tampa Bay Times. “That’s not the kind of stardom I want. … I want to be in Dune. I want to work with Denis Villeneuve. I want to work with Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor. I want that respect and credibility and education.”

Even though the future of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 remains slightly up in the air, Bautista will make an appearance in Avengers: Endgame later in April as Drax. Additionally, he has joined Denis Villeneuve’s Dune cast as “Beast” Rabban. The duo previously worked together in Blade Runner 2049.
