George R.R. Martin Says 3 Game of Thrones Spin-Offs Are Moving Forward

The final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones  won’t be the last time fans will travel to Westeros, as the premium cable network has been developing various spin-offs set in the world of the wildly popular fantasy epic. Series creator George Martin revealed in his blog that three of the five announced “successors” of Game of Thrones are “moving forward nicely”.

Internet reports are notoriously unreliable,” Martin wrote. “We have had five different GAME OF THRONES successor shows in development (I mislike [sic] the term “spinoffs”) at HBO, and three of them are still moving forward nicely.

Then the author suggested that his latest book may contain some clues about the spin-off’s plot.

The one I am not supposed to call THE LONG NIGHT will be shooting later this year, and two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer,” he added. “What are they about? I cannot say. But maybe some of you should pick up a copy of FIRE & BLOOD and come up with your own theories.

At the moment, at least one of the five spin-offs is not moving forward, as revealed recently by series writer and executive producer Bryan Cogman.

Game of Thrones episode 8.05 airs Sunday, May 12.
