John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum had a short reign at the top, thanks to Disney’s Aladdin. The live-action remake of the animated classic easily claimed the top spot at the Memorial Day weekend box office. Disney estimated that Aladdin pulled in $86.1 million over the weekend, with a projected $105 million through Monday. However, industry estimates have Aladdin at $88.5 million for the weekend, and $110 million through Monday.
Meanwhile, John Wick Chapter 3 fell to second place with $24.3 million for the weekend, with an additional $6.2 million on Monday. Over the extended weekend, Avengers: Endgame held on at #3 with $21.9 million. That brings its domestic total up to $803.2 million. However, Endgame‘s road to breaking Avatar‘s worldwide box office record has become more difficult. Currently, Endgame has approximately $2,682,472,736 worldwide; which is around $105 million less than Avatar‘s $2,787,965,087. But Endgame‘s momentum has significantly decreased. It will probably surpass Avatar at some point, but not soon.

Detective Pikachu took the fourth spot, with $17.2 million over four days. But the news isn’t quite as bright for Brightburn. The James Gunn produced riff on an evil Superman-like character only brought in $9 million during the extended weekend. Godzilla: King of the Monsters will hit theaters this Friday; which means that Brightburn will probably fall out of the top five next weekend.
Rounding out the holiday weekend were Booksmart ($8 million) at #6, A Dog’s Journey ($5.4 million) at #7, The Hustle ($4.8 million) at #8, The Intruder ($2.9 million) at #9, and Long Shot ($2 million) at #10.
