The Lego Movie 2 Director Wants to Helm a Plastic Man Movie

Director Mike Mitchell seems to have acquired a taste for superheroes movie. After making his debut in the world of superheroes with the comedy Sky High, and then directing The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, he now has stated that he wouldn’t mind another foray in the superhero world. Speaking with Comicbookmovie, Mitchell revealed that he would like to work on a DC/Marvel crossover, and even on a Plastic Man movie.

“Oh yeah, I love superheroes,” Mitchell said. “I did a superhero film years ago, Sky High, and I’m such a fan. It would be great to see a DC and Marvel character in the same film…that would be fantastic. Maybe just cram them all together into one ultimate film! I’m sure it’s gonna happen at some point but I couldn’t be more happy to work on something like that. It would be fantastic! Plastic Man! They need to make that guy someday. I don’t even know if he’s DC or Marvel.” [He’s DC.]

Plastic Man film in the style of The Lego Movie franchise wouldn’t be a bad idea. First, Patrick O’Brian has always been DC Universe’s comic relief, given that he rarely takes anything seriously and is a practical joker of the highest order. Also, he was known to break the 4th wall well before Deadpool made having have fun with the reader cool. Despite his being one of the silliest characters in the DC Universe, he may also be one of the most powerful, so it would be very interesting to see this superhero exploring his superpowers.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Download. Would you like to see a Plastic Man movie? Let us know in the comments section below.
