Actress Danai Gurira Confirms Okoye’s Return in Black Panther 2

Now that Marvel Studios has officially confirmed Black Panther 2, we are getting more and more information about the upcoming movie. Asked by MTV about the return of co-star Michael B. Jordan, who played Erik “Killmonger” Stevens in the Black PantherBlack Panther star Danai Gurira beat around the bush.

“We all love Michael, we can never get enough Michael B,” she said. “I mean, you can never get enough Michael B, we all know this.”

However, she did confirm that she will eventually reprise her role of Okoye in Black Panther‘s sequel.

“Listen, listen… literally, I have no information, that’s the beauty of our conversation right now,” Gurira added. “Mr. Coogler says, ‘Tell them we’re working hard, and you’re in it.’ That’s all I got for you.”

Black Panther arrived in February of 2018 with Chadwick Boseman in the titular role. Creed director Ryan Coogler stepped behind the camera for the movie, which featured an amazing ensemble including Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. Black Panther debuted in 2018 to the tune of  $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office and became the first Marvel Studios movie to win an Academy Award, taking home three of the coveted prizes.

Marvel Studios has not yet set an official release date for Black Panther 2.
