Bounty Hunting is “Complicated” in The Mandalorian’s First Trailer!

In over four decades, there’s never been a Star Wars live-action TV series…until now. At D23, Lucasfilm and Disney dropped the first full trailer for The Mandalorian. The series takes place post-Return of the Jedi, and features a new bounty hunter in the title role. As seen in the video below, the Mandalorian is no stranger to trouble. And he packs enough carbonite to safely transport his targets.

Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Werner Herzog are all glimpsed in the trailer. Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos) is playing the Mandalorian himself. Pascal’s face is never seen in the trailer, and it’s also unclear if the Mandalorian will always keep his helmet on. But if the footage is any indication, the Mandalorian isn’t afraid to take on the Imperial remnant.

Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), and Nick Nolte (Warrior) also star in the series. Ming-Na Wen will also be among the cast in a mystery role. Jon Favreau created the show and executive produced the series. Favreau also worked closely with Star Wars animation veteran Dave Filoni, who directed an episode. Other guest directors include Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa. Waititi will also provide the voice of IG-11, the killer droid in the preview.

The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ on November 12. The first season will feature eight episodes.
