Video: Who Was To Blame For the Spider-Man Drama?

2019 should have been the year of the Spider-Man. And it was, but not always for the better. In August, Spider-Man: Far From Home passed $1 billion at the worldwide box office shortly before word broke that Sony ended talks with Marvel and Disney to extend Spidey’s presence in the MCU. For a few weeks, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was completely divorced from the Marvel Studios films.

Fortunately, the story has a happy ending…for now. Sony and Marvel/Disney came back to the negotiating table and extended their agreement by two films. In 2021, there’s going to be a third Holland-led Spider-Man movie and one MCU film to be named later. Everything worked out in the end, right?

More importantly, who’s to blame for the most important Marvel hero being stuck, potentially forever, at a rival studio? Let’s just say that there’s no shortage of blame to be shared.
