Taika Waititi Says Korg Returns in Thor: Love and Thunder

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is ready to be shaken up once again by the Kronan warrior Korg, who will return once more into the Thor franchise. The character portrayed by Taika Waititi is returning in Thor: Love and Thunder. The director made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and he talked about the fourth installment in the Thor saga.

“I’ve just finished a couple of drafts of that story. There is more Thor. There is twice the Thor in Thor 4,” Waitiki joked. You can check the full interview in the player below.

Then Waititi not only confirmed Natalie Portman’s return, but he also revealed that Korg will play a part of in the story.

“Hopefully it’s common knowledge that Natalie Portman is coming back,” he added. “She will be playing a female version of Thor. It’s from a comic run; there are two of them. My character is coming back too, Korg.”

Korg made his debut in the MCU in Thor: Ragnarok as a contender in the Grandmaster’s Contest of Champions. He was also one of the survivors after the Snap while living in New Asgard with Miek and the rest of the surviving Asgardians. The last time we saw him, he joined the battle to defeat Thanos, before returning to New Asgard under Valkyrie’s new rule. Fans of this comic relief character should be pleased to learn his story continues further.
