Sideshow’s Website Crashed After Revealing a Life-Sized Baby Yoda Replica

Take a good look at that picture above. Seems like a still from The Mandalorian, right? But it’s not. That’s Sideshow Collectibles newest contribution to the cult of Baby Yoda. A life-size Baby Yoda replica, designed to be as close to an exact copy of the actual puppet seen onscreen as possible. And shortly after Sideshow revealed it, their website went down. Their servers clearly couldn’t handle firepower of that magnitude.

As of this writing, they’re back online, and “The Child” remains available for preorder. At $350, it’s the priciest Baby Yoda yet, but a six-month installment plan is available. Plus this is no action figure, but a mixed-media, premium format statue. In Sideshow’s own words:

“The Child Life-Size Figure measures 16.5” tall, standing on a simple black podium base that lets this adorable alien steal all of the focus – along with the Mandalorian’s ship parts. Inspired by its unique onscreen appearance, this mixed media statue features a tan fabric coat swaddling The Child as it gazes up with charming wide eyes, hiding the silver shift knob from the Razor Crest™ in its right hand.”

“Every inch of this incredibly lifelike figure has been meticulously detailed to recreate everything that Star Wars fans love about the young alien, from the fuzz on its wrinkled head to its irresistible pout, all the way down to its tiny, toddling feet.”

Well, maybe not “everything” fans love. This statue probably can’t levitate a mudhorn. But he can raise the joy level in a collector’s heart. Check out the full gallery of images from Sideshow below. Then tell us thoughts you have in comments, you must.
