Netflix Goes Behind the Scenes of Cursed With a New Featurette

Later this week, Netflix is hoping to score their next big hit with Cursed. Now, with only a few days to go until the premiere, Netflix has debuted a new behind-the-scenes featurette which follows a few cast members as they take viewers inside the making of the new series.

Cursed is based on the illustrated novel by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler. And it presents a unique remix of Arthurian legend. The series is told from the point of view of Nimue (Katherine Langford), whom fans of Arthurian mythology may recognize as the Lady of the Lake. According to the actors, including Daniel Sharman, we can anticipate an “engaging story,” but it looks like we can also expect striking visuals as well. The featurette makes it appear as if the producers wanted to recreate Miller’s original illustrations as faithfully as possible.

Langford also explained what it was like to work with Miller and Wheeler on set. Additionally, she gave special props the major players behind the scenes who made Cursed’s fantasy realm a reality.

“Tom and Frank, when you get them together, they’re like the biggest, most brilliant nerds,” said Langford. “It’s so much fun and they do come from a place of genuine love and creativity for the stories.”

“When I first read the book, it drew me in,” continued Langford. “Tom’s story in itself was incredible, but to bring that to life, you really need a team: the incredible set designers we have, the incredible props we have, [the] very, very talented hair and makeup and costume department.”

Cursed premieres this Friday, July 17, on Netflix. You can watch the new featurette for the series below, then share your thoughts in the comment section!
