DC Universe has dropped a brand promo for the upcoming ninth episode of Doom Patrol Season 2. As fans already know, the show’s sophomore season was initially supposed to have ten episodes, but it lost one due to the COVID-19 health emergency. At the moment, the fate of that tenth episode is still unclear, and nobody knows if the producers ever intend to complete it.
In the freshly released promo, the Candlemaker has managed to break out eventually. Dorothy and the Chief are trapped inside a carnival in their attempt to fight the fiery monster, but it seems that they won’t make it on their own. It’s up to the Doom Patrol to take action and go for their friends’ rescue. The promo also teases that Jane will get crazier than usual.

Chris Dingess and Tanya Steele wrote the episode. The official synopsis of “Wax Patrol” reads:
“Before they can save the world from The Candlemaker in the season two finale, the Doom Patrol must first confront their childhood imaginary friends. Meanwhile, Jane reflects on the first time that Miranda (guest star Samantha Marie Ware) became “primary,” and Dorothy must make a fateful choice.”
Doom Patrol Episode 2.09 will premiere on DC Universe and HBO Max on Thursday, August 6.
