McFarlane Toys DC FanDome Reveals: The Drowned and Death Metal Batcycle

Reiterating once again that his primary consideration in selecting characters for toys is that they look cool, Todd McFarlane showed off a couple of new DC Multiverse figures this weekend. Unsurprisingly, they are both Batman-related. Equally unsurprisingly, they hail from the Dark Multiverse, like so many of McFarlane Toys‘ recent offerings.

First up is The Drowned, a.k.a. evil female Batman as Aquaman. Todd had the final pre-paint prototype of Bryce Wayne to show to the FanDome cameras:

Along with that, McFarlane Toys posted a final product image of the Death Metal Batcycle, which suggests a grim reaper Batman to ride it should follow soon thereafter.

Shades of the old Violator Chopper from the Spawn line, there.

Aside from that, McFarlane hinted at more TV and movie stuff to come, without offering specifics. And he noted that it’s important to give different characters in the line distinctive silhouettes, so they stand out even from a distance.

Not shown at FanDome, but reported on by ToyNewsi, McFarlane’s Arkham Asylum Batman and Joker will see rerelease in a two-pack that sees them dirtied up with a new grime and venom paint deco. And advance listings suggest Damien Wayne and Red Son Superman could come next. (Though these aren’t always accurate; that Birds of Prey movie Harley never showed up.)

Will you be excited to see these show up in stores? Tell us your thoughts in comments.
