HBO has released a brand new promo for the upcoming third episode of His Dark Materials Season 2. In the latest episode of the show, the young Lyra met Dr. Mary Malone, a physicist who is studying the Dust and might have some answers about its nature. Lyra also had the chance to use Dr. Malone’s computer, called “the Cave,” thanks to which the young woman connected with the Dust in a very peculiar way. In the meantime, Mrs. Coulter is successfully manipulating Father MacPhail into bringing the war to the witches.
The promo for “Theft” teases that Lyra’s mother will stop at nothing to get her hands on her daughter once again. And to find her daughter’s whereabouts, Mrs. Coulter is torturing a battered Lee Scoresby. Besides that, Lyra and Will will have an unpleasant encounter with Lord Boreal. The next episode’s title is a reference to the title of the ninth chapter of The Subtle Knife by author Philip Pullman.
