Lucasfilm and Bethesda Join Forces for an Indiana Jones Game

The most famous archeologist in the world is ready to explore new shores. Lucasfilm Games just announced in a press release that a new Indiana Jones game is in development. Swedish video game developer MachineGames will develop the game with Todd Howard of Bethesda Games Studios, the minds behind the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls series, serving as executive producer. According to the release, the game will tell a “wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer.”

In the meantime, Bethesda has also released an announcement teaser. Check it out in the player here below. There may be some hidden clues to the game’s content within.

It might take a while before fans play as the junior Dr. Henry, but the fifth movie in the franchise should debut soon. According to Disney’s plans, Indiana Jones 5 should hit the theaters on July 29, 2022. After a series of changes, including Steven Spielberg vacating the director’s chair at the beginning of 2020, the movie will see James Mangold at the helm and Dan Fogelman on the script.

Lucasfilm Games has yet to set an official release date for the upcoming Indiana Jones game.
