Earlier today, Vanity Fair ran a lengthy feature about Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The director also ignited a new round of rumors when he said that the new ending has “a hero cameo that will blow hard-core fans’ minds.” However, Snyder didn’t share any additional details beyond that.
Regardless, the popular speculation has been that the mystery cameo will be Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, one of the few major heroes who hasn’t appeared in the DC Extended Universe yet. Ryan Reynolds previously appeared as Hal in the 2011 Green Lantern movie. Some vocal fans guessed that Reynolds could return for Justice League‘s new cut, but he quickly shot down those rumors.
It’s not me. But what a cool pirate flag to cameo as Hal. Maybe it’s another GL? But for me, the suit stays in the closet. I mean, computer. https://t.co/QU4NRVadiz

At the time of its release, Green Lantern was potentially the beginning of a DC connected universe. But when the film was poorly received, it was largely ignored in favor of Man of Steel, the official beginning of the DCEU.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will hit HBO Max on March 18.
