Amazon Prime Renews Invincible For Two More Seasons

In just a few hours, the final episode of Invincible season 1 will debut on Amazon Prime. However, it’s far from the end of the series. Amazon has officially renewed Invincible for two more seasons.

“I’m extremely thankful to Amazon for the support and dedication they’ve put behind Invincible,” said co-creator Robert Kirkman in a statement. “The comic book is truly a love letter to a genre that Cory (Walker) and I grew up reading and loving, and it’s been a gratifying journey to watch our characters come to life again through the animated series. We’re beyond excited to continue this story for at least two more seasons.”

Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley created the Invincible comic book for Image Comics in 2003. The series ran for 144 issues until its conclusion in 2018. That leaves a lot of stories to tell beyond the two season renewal.

Invincible is a crowning example of how a fresh and edgy approach to the superhero genre can resonate with audiences around the globe and we’re so glad that Invincible, one of our earliest investments in the adult animation genre, has accomplished just that,” added Amazon’s Vernon Sanders. “Robert’s no-holds-barred storytelling coupled with a first-class voice cast delivered on fans’ wildest expectations and we’re thrilled to be giving them more Invincible.”

At the moment, there’s no timetable for when the second season of Invincible will premiere. The first season finale hits Amazon Prime on Friday, April 30.
