Netflix Shares the First Look at Locke & Key Season 2

It’s time to go back to Keyhouse. During today’s Geeked Week announcements, Netflix revealed that Locke & Key will premiere its second season in October. There’s no trailer for the new season yet. Regardless, the streaming service offered a tease in the form of several images taken from the upcoming episodes. Check them out for yourself below.

After the success of the first season last year, Netflix ordered more episodes of Locke & Key back in December. The streamer also granted an early greenlight to season 3, indicating a confidence in what showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averil have in store for the series’ return this fall. The cast and crew wrapped production on season 2 back in April and reconvened to start filming season 3 the following month.

Based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s hit IDW comic of the same name, the series follows the three Locke children–Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode–who relocate to their father’s Massachusetts hometown after his murder at the hands of one of his former students. They discover his family’s mansion, Keyhouse, holds a multitude of secrets. The first season also showed the Locke clan discovering several keys that possess different supernatural powers. They also ran afoul of a demonic force who wants the keys for its own nefarious reasons.

The new photos show several members of the cast including Connor Jessup (Tyler), Emilia Jones (Kinsey), and Jackson Robert Scott (Bode). Aaron Ashmore and Hallea Jones, who recurred in season 1 as Duncan Locke and Eden Hawkins, have been promoted to series regulars for the new season. Additionally, season 2 will introduce Brendan Hines as Josh Bennett, a teacher at Tyler and Kinsey’s school who has a secret of his own.
