Warner Bros.’ New Dune Trailer Welcomes Viewers To Arrakis

It’s been almost 40 years since Frank Herbert’s Dune was adapted for the big screen. However, the classic sci-fi saga will return this fall in a brand new adaptation. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune was delayed for a year because of COVID-19, but it also looks like it will be worth the wait.

Warner Bros. has debuted a new trailer for Dune that features Chani (Zendaya) explaining the significance of her home world, Arrakis. Chani’s people have been exploited so that the empire can mine Spice, the most valuable substance in the universe. Additionally, Timothy Chalamet’s Paul Atreides could be the key to saving her world. However, Paul may lose everything he has long before he gets the chance.

Here’s the official description from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures:

“A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.

As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.”

Dune will hit theaters and HBO Max on October 22.
