The Batman: Part II Delay Reason Reportedly Revealed

After news broke yesterday that The Batman: Part II was delayed, the reason for the DC Studios sequel being pushed back may have been revealed.

Insider Jeff Sneider took to Twitter to report a potential reason for the film’s change in release date. Sneider explained that though last year’s entertainment strikes “didn’t help” the situation, he’s heard the sequel‘s delay is due to “a lack of available stages.” As Warner Bros. was deciding on timing, stages ended up being reserved for other projects, leading to this situation.

You can see Sneider’s tweet below:

Little is known about the plot of The Batman: Part II so far, though Robert Pattinson is set to return as the titular Dark Knight. The first film did tease the Joker and leave the Riddler alive at Arkham, so one or both of these iconic antagonists could make a return.

What happens in The Batman?

“Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City,” reads the first film’s synopsis. “With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.”
