Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett Star Remains Hopeful for a Season 2

The Book of Boba Fett star Ming-Na Wen is holding out hope that Lucasfilm and Disney+ will eventually renew the Star Wars series for a second season.

Speaking with her The Mandalorian co-star Kate Sackhoff on the latter’s new podcast, The Sackhoff Show (via Twitter), Wen shared that she wanted another season of The Book of Boba Fett as much as the fans did. “So do I,” she stated. “I think the fans and Tem [Morrison] and I, we should all do The Book Of Boba Fett Season 2. I think there’s a lot more stories to be told, and it hasn’t really quite finished and evolved, and there’s more. So hopefully.”

What is The Book of Boba Fett about?

Created by Jon Favreau, The Book of Boba Fett is a spin-off of The Mandalorian, taking place in the New Republic era of the Star Wars timeline. Wen and Temuera Morrison reprise their roles as Fennec Shand and Boba Fett in the Disney+ spin-off series following their introductions in The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2, respectively.

The Book of Boba Fett, consisting of seven episodes that were released weekly on Disney+ from December 2021 to February 2022, follows Boba Fett and Fennec Shand as they attempt to make a name for themselves in the galaxy’s underworld by taking over the territory once controlled by Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine.

Critical reception was mixed for The Book of Boba Fett, although Morrison’s performance as the title character was praised. Most of the criticism was levied at Lucasfilm’s decision to shift the focus onto Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin for multiple episodes, sidelining Morrison’s Boba Fett in the process.

At the time of writing, it is unknown if Morrison’s Boba Fett and Wen’s Fennec Shand will be part of the cast of the forthcoming Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is expected to begin filming this June.

The Book of Boba Fett is available to stream on Disney+.
