Missing The Pain

The Punisher Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

Russo and Krista’s connection grows into a sexual one. The two engage in primal sex, with Russo digging his fingers into the litany of scars that cover Krista’s body. The mix of pain and pleasure leave the two glowing. Sometimes it’s good to be reminded of pain after it goes away. She goads Russo into asking about her scars. Krista took a hard fall when she was nine and spent the next few years being put back together. That explains her reluctance to approach her windows. Russo proves accepting of her flaws where other weren’t. They are part of the person he cares for. Nothing more.

Their time together is short-lived though as Russo, clear-headed and well rested for the first time in a while, tells her he is leaving. Krista tries to stop him, but Russo desires to get some part of what he used to have back, even if he doesn’t remember having it. Krista promises that they aren’t going to hurt each other. They might actually be good for one another. Her words don’t sway Russo and he leaves as Krista presses herself against the window. She weeps as she watches him walk away.

Least Worst Option

The Punisher Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

Dinah’s meeting with Curtis and Frank causes her to recollect a conversation with Marion one year earlier. While being interviewed in the hospital about the carousel incident, Marion forces her to adhere to the lie concocted to protect her and Frank. Dinah is resistant but understands it to be the best option for all involved. It still eats at her, and keeping Frank from killing Russo offers her the chance to not make the same choice. Curtis agrees with Frank, offering to help him find Russo. Frank has no qualms about doing the dirty work for both of them, though he believes they might need to do it for themselves.

Dinah’s efforts to ID Pilgrim come up empty. The lab tech floats the idea that the computer system could have been altered to protect the mystery man, but Dinah has no time to look further. She meets with Marion for advice on what to do. Marion suggests that she just stay out of it and let Frank and Russo tear each other apart.

Frank and Curtis have tracked down Jake and Dinah joins them for the interrogation. She watches as Jake resists Frank’s questioning. That gets Jake a knife in the hand after Frank allows him to take a shot at him. Dinah tells Frank to stop. She pulls him outside and tells him to control himself. Jake ultimately gives up details of Russo’s robbery, sending Frank and Curtis on the chase. Dinah tells them she’s tipping off Mahoney, but Frank doesn’t care. Nothing is stopping him from ending Russo.
