With less than a week to go until the season premiere of Game of Thrones, HBO has built up massive hype for its last go-around. This includes a series of new video featurettes, in which members of the cast look back on their experiences. Be sure to set some time aside, because they have a lot to say.
The Cast Remembers
First up is a general overview that features the cast and production team talking about their favorite memories. It shows a lot of characters at a much younger age. But it also focuses on shocking moments, including Jon Snow’s “death” and a revisit of the Red Wedding.
Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont
The next video features Iain Glen, who talks about his experience portraying Jorah. He discusses the costume piece he wanted to wear over the course of the series, and working alongside Emilia Clarke. “I’ve loved the role, I’ve loved the people, and I find it really hard to let it go.”
Kit Harington as Jon Snow
Next up is a pretty major character for the series, Jon Snow. Kit Harington takes a loving look back at how he’s grown over the years. He also reflects on what he’ll miss the most when it comes to portraying the troubled character. “What I’ll miss most is the sense of kinship,” he explains. “You don’t get many of these, if any. And it’s affecting me a lot deeper than I thought it would.”
Liam Cunningham as Davos Seaworth
Up next is Davos, in which Liam recalls some humorous moments with the character. This includes talking about the strangest scene he had to film, and what he takes away from the series. “This show will be discovered by generations to come; it’s timeless,” Cunningham notes. “We did a lot of laughing. It’s wonderful.”
Isaac Hempstead Wright as Bran Stark
One of the youngest members of the cast has a lot to say about his Game of Thrones role over the years. “It’s become such a huge part of who I am,” he said. “It’ll be sad not to be coming back and getting to be Bran.” He also talks about his favorite shocking moments from the series.

John Bradley as Samwell Tarly
John starts right in, explaining, “I think I’m gonna have a hard time saying goodbye to Sam.” He also has memories about filming the series in Iceland, as well as the pure energy of working with Kit Harington.
Rory McCann as The Hound
Then we come to The Hound, a fan favorite from Game of Thrones. McCann has lots of memories with the character. He talks about his reactions to the Red Wedding, as well as fighting against Brienne of Tarth. He does admit there’s one thing he won’t miss about the show: “walking around with a half f***ing beard three quarters of the year.”
Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister
Of course, there has to be a video with Dinklage looking back as Tyrion. “I get Tyrion yelled at me more than I get ‘Peter’ yelled at me on the streets,” he explains. He also talks about how what the character means to him as a whole. “When you’re involved in something great, something you’re gonna be really proud of…just this feeling you have, it’s like being in love.” This is a must-watch.
Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark
Another great featurette has Sophie Turner talking about the growth of her Game of Thrones character over the years. She also discusses how close she’s become to the cast and crew. “I’ve been thinking about it for a few years,” she says. “This is has been not only a family to me, but I’ve grown up with these people. I’ve changed so much as a person because of these people.”
Maisie Williams as Arya Stark
Next up is this dominant character, in which Williams used her many tools to bring her to life. “I’m 100 percent going to miss that,” she says as she reflects back. She also talks about her tearful reunion with Sansa, and how her friendship with Sophia Turner pushed that.
Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen
One of the most memorable characters from the series, Daenerys Targaryen, gets a loving look back by Clarke. She talks about how the weight of the character changed her. “This show…has set me free. It’s literally given me my freedom.” There’s also a fun moment where she celebrates her birthday on-set.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister
Nikolaj has his fair share of memories working on Game of Thrones. This includes talking about pivotal scenes that has given Jaime weight. But he also explains what makes the show so unique, to him at least. “It’s rare that you have a show, any show, where people don’t lose interest…by season four or five. But here it’s been building, and it’s still building.”
Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister
Last but certainly not least, you have Headey looking back at her memorable time as Cersei Lannister. “It’s just been brilliant. Incredibly grateful,” she says. She also talks about her favorite screen partners and a particularly fun moment with a side character and his hat. “That’s the one thing I would love to have, that hat.”
