Star Trek Jean-Luc Picard Series Adds Three More To Cast

CBS TV Studios is ready to bring Jean-Luc Picard back to television with its latest Star Trek series. Now, a trio of actors will join him on his latest adventure into the reaches of space. Via Deadline, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, and Isa Briones are on board, joining Sir Patrick Stewart in the yet untitled show.

Thus far, there’s no word on which characters the perofmers will portray in the series. In fact, the only role that we know about at the moment is Stewart’s. He’ll once again step into the role of Picard, which he made originated on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Story details are under wraps at the moment, this new series will fill pick up several years after Star Trek: Nemesis.

Pill (pictured top left) recently appeared on American Horror Story: Cult. She also co-stars in the Oscar-nominated film Vice and recently wrapped production on the upcoming series Devs.

Treadaway (pictured top middle) has been hard at work on the fourth season of the Netflix series The Crown. He also stars in Nash Edgerton’s film Gringo.

Finally, Briones (pictured top right) has been busy performing on-stage with Hamilton. She also stars in American Crime Story: Versace, which scored big with audiences last year.

The Picard series is a production between CBS TV Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. The groups recently announced that the first two episodes will have Hanelle Culpepper on board as director. This marks the first time in the franchise’s history that a woman will direct a pilot or debut episode of Star Trek.

Jonathan Frakes, who worked with Stewart on Next Generation, will also helm a pair of episodes. Once it completes production, Picard will stream on the CBS All Access service, just as Star Trek: Discovery currently does. At the moment, there’s no word on when it’ll air. But we’ll more than likely hear more about a release date in the months ahead.
