Crisis on Infinite Earths is easily one of the most epic events in the history of DC Comics. So expectations are understandably high for The CW’s adaptation of the acclaimed miniseries, which will arrive later this year. Given the storyline’s popularity, story details are being kept under lock and key. But until the network feels like sharing, we’ll have to settle for a new tease courtesy of Hartley Sawyer, the actor who plays Ralph Dibney/Elongated Man on The Flash.
During an interview with Hollywood Life, Sawyer was asked about the network’s plans for the upcoming crossover. Since the producers are still working out the kinks, he couldn’t say much. However, he seemed to assure fans that they’re trying their hardest to match the scale of its comic book source material.
“I know pretty much as [much as] the fans know because they’re sorting all of that stuff out right now,” said Sawyer. “My understanding of it is that this one that’s coming up next year is I believe going to be the crossover to end all crossovers. It’s my understanding this is going to be the biggest crossover that we’ve ever done. There’s going to be a lot going on.”

The CW’s version of Crisis will unite the casts of five Arrowverse shows, including Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. With this, viewers are undoubtedly excited to see some of their favorite characters interact on the small screen. And if Sawyer gets his way, he’ll be sharing a scene with none other than Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel.
“There’s a couple that would be really fun,” admitted Sawyer. “I mean obviously, this will never happen, but I don’t know why Superman would be in a car anyway, but I would love to see Ralph and Superman on a road trip, like in a car for five hours. What would they talk about? Where would it go? Or Batwoman… I would love to see those two characters together. There’s such a juxtaposition there that would be so much fun to play off of that I think it would be so much fun.”
