Are you ready for game night to get a little stranger? The ’80s were a high time for such classics as Trivial Pursuit, Dungeons and Dragons, and of course, arcades. Now, Hasbro is bringing it all back. A Stranger Things edition of D&D seems like a no-brainer, since the name of the show’s signature Demogorgon monster comes directly from the game. But Hasbro didn’t just slap the brand on an RPG: the special show-based edition features characters like Will the Wise and Dustin the Dwarf, based on the gaming personas assumed by the lead kids. It also comes with two exclusive Demogorgon miniatures: one painted, andone paintable.
Stranger Things Trivial Pursuit features an innovative gameplay feature that can send players through a portal. Flip over part of the board to land in the Upside Down, where players can lose pieces as easily as poor Barb lost her life. All of the questions are ’80s themed with categories including Movies, TV, Music, Famous People and Events, Trends, Tech and Fun, and Stranger Things.
Finally, Hasbro is putting out a Stranger Things mini-arcade unit. It will feature 20 classic ’80s games like Pac-Man, Dig-Dug, Galaga, and Galaxian. The cabinet also features show-themed, animated-style artwork.
Prices range from $19.99 to $24.99, and these games should be available soon. You might say your playtime is about to get cranked up to Eleven.
