Marvel Teases Spider-Man: Maximum Venom With New Artwork

Next spring, Marvel’s Spider-Man is coming back to Disney XD for its third season. As its subtitle makes clear, the upcoming season will be Venom’s time to shine. Of course, Spidey won’t be the only hero who will have to deal with symbiotes in 2020. Spider-Man: Maximum Venom will unite all of Disney XD’s Marvel shows under one overarching story. To get fans ready for the event, Marvel has dropped a new video of its Venomized heroes, after they get their own symbiotes. You can also check it out below.

The video reveals symbiote-enhanced versions of Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America. “Venomized” Spider-Man isn’t getting the traditional black costume he had in the comics. Instead it resembles a hybrid of Spidey’s traditional red and blue suit and his Future Foundation costume. Meanwhile, the Venomized Hulk is almost a dead ringer for Venom himself.

Obviously, this won’t be the first time we’ve seen other Marvel heroes infected by symbiotes. In the comics, the Venom symbiote has bonded with Deadpool, the Human Torch, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, to name a few. The 2008 video game Spider-Man: Web of Shadows also featured symbiotic versions of Wolverine and Black Cat.

Maximum Venom isn’t your standard-issue Spider-Man, this is bigger,” said producer Kevin Burke during Spider-Man’s D23 panel. “This idea of Maximum Venom – Doing a Venom centric season just begged to be bigger. So instead of being your typical weekly episode, these are six-hour-long, Spider-Man/Venom movies. That’s what this ultimately is – six specials about Spider-Man, in Spider-Man: Maximum Venom.”
