Ghostbusters’ Marshmallow Man Gets Scared for Exclusive NYCC Toy

“Choose…and die!” That was the ultimatum given to Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, and Egon Spengler by Gozer the Destructor, interdimensional deity. Ray infamously thought of a candy mascot he loved as a child, and the rest is sugar-spun kaiju history. But as a Ghostbusters toy collector, one does not have to choose, as there are multiple versions of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man to own in plastic form. But if you want one who looks frightened, the only place to snag that is New York Comic Con.

Though the figure is packaged to reflect the animated series The Real Ghostbusters, the figure, like all Diamond Select Ghostbusters toys, is realistically styled. Even when they make cartoon-based stuff in this line, it gets a realistic spin. So he’ll fit in with all the spectral snagger toys in a collection. Earlier this year, at SDCC, an angry-faced variant came in a multipack with spectral Ghostbusters and a Terror Dog. He also comes in his own window box.

At $20, he’s cheaper than the majority Diamond Ghostbusters figures, and more limited than most. Only 500 of this fully articulated candy man in this particular mood exist. Fans can pick him up at Diamond’s booth at New York Comic Con. There, they may also have some left-over SDCC exclusives from other properties.
