Two years ago, Rick and Morty wrapped its third season on Adult Swim. After a long delay, series co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon announced that Rick and Morty scored a 70 episode renewal from Adult Swim. This November, Rick and Morty return for a new round of adventures. However, fans may be less than pleased to hear that only five episodes are on the way.
The new Rick and Morty season 4 trailer has a somewhat cheeky response to the bad news. “Half the season you deserve. All the season we could handle.” Previously, it was expected that season 4 would have ten episodes, just as the third season did. Potentially, another run of five episodes could follow in 2020. But Adult Swim didn’t make any additional promises in the trailer.

Several familiar faces appear in the new trailer, including Mr. Poopybutthole, the Meeseeks, and Gearhead. Story details are relatively light, but it appears that Morty will briefly own a dragon and morph into some kind of monster. It also appears that Morty’s dad, Jerry, has formed a start-up company with an alien, which will inevitably go bad.
Rick and Morty season 4 will premiere on November 10 on Adult Swim.
