HBO Shares Four Episode Titles and Synopses for Westworld Season 3

As any Westworld fan can attest, HBO’s hit sci-fi series is a whirlwind of complex characters, edge-of-your-seat thrills, and clever allegory. It seems like no aspect of the series is immune to mystery. And that, unsurprisingly, includes the episode titles. HBO (via /Film) has just released the names of the first four installments of Westworld’s impending third season. The network also shared synopses for these episodes. You can have a look at them below.

In all seriousness, these synopses sound less like descriptions for a TV drama and more like the sort of missives you’d find on the most depressing assortment of motivational posters. They don’t offer much in the way of plot teases. Regardless, this certainly won’t stop longtime viewers from trying to pick them apart.

These latest offerings also clue us in to who stepped behind the camera to direct the episodes. “The Winter Line” marks Richard J. Lewis’ fourth time directing for the series. Meanwhile, Amanda Marsalis is making her Westworld debut with “The Absence of Field.” Paul Cameron, who served as the cinematographer for the series’ pilot episode, is making his TV directorial debut with “The Mother of Exiles.” Additionally, co-creator Jonathan Nolan is helming the season premiere. This will be his first time directing a Westworld episode since the first season finale.

Westworld season 3 debuts on Sunday, March 15 on HBO.
