Next month, AMC was going to tell Walking Dead fans a new story about the first generation of survivors to come of age during the zombie apocalypse. But now, it looks like fans of the franchise will have to wait a bit longer to explore this new corner of the TWD universe. AMC has decided to postpone the debut of The Walking Dead: World Beyond until later this year.
AMC made the announcement via its official Twitter page earlier today. You can check out the new post below.

AMC previously revealed that The Walking Dead: World Beyond would only last for two seasons. The series began filming in Virginia last summer, so it doesn’t seem likely that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic had any effect on the first season’s production timetable. Instead, the delay is probably related to how the virus will impact the filming schedules of its sister series.
Fear the Walking Dead season 6 was already in production when it was forced to stop due to concerns over the disease. Meanwhile, The Walking Dead was targeting a summer start date for its eleventh season. AMC was probably intending for World Beyond to serve as a placeholder between these shows. AMC executives may want to hold off on airing it until the other series resume shooting.
AMC has not set a new premiere date for The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
