Dylan Walsh Will Play Sam Lane In Superman and Lois TV Series

Assuming the coronavirus pandemic will end this summer, Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will reprise their respective Arrowverse roles this fall as Superman and Lois. Apparently, Lois won’t be the only member of the Lane family around full time. Via Deadline, Dylan Walsh has been cast as Lois’ father, General Sam Lane.

Sam Lane has actually already appeared in the Arrowverse. Glenn Morshower portrayed the general on Supergirl. Deadline describes the elder Lane as a “no-nonsense Army general who’s determined to keep America, and the world, safe from all threats – from this world or beyond. Lane’s a workaholic who demands nothing but excellence from all those in his life.”  It also calls him a “popular comic book character,” which is not strictly accurate. Within the comics, Sam Lane is often at odds with his daughter and the Man of Steel. He also disapproves of both Clark Kent and his alter ego, Superman.

As revealed during Crisis on Infinite Earths, the shifting timeline means that Clark and Lois now have two sons instead of one. Jordan Elsass will play Jonathan Kent, while Alexander Garfin will portray Jonathan’s brother, Jordan.

The CW has ordered Superman and Lois straight-to-series. However, the current pandemic may interfere with its fall premiere.
