The fact that Amazon’s The Boys takes so many liberties with its comic book source material makes it hard to predict which events will make their way to the series. But if Jack Quaid gets his way, one of the comic’s most memorable character families will eventually show up. While answering fan questions on Twitter, Quaid was asked which stories he’d most like to see adapted. He responded that the storyline featuring the G-Men would be his top choice, mainly because of Hughie’s role in it. You can read what he had to say below.
I always thought Hughie going under-cover as a supe would be a fun thing to bring in from the comics. The way he does with the G-Men. With the ill-fitting suit and everything.

The Boys co-creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson introduced the the G-Men in issue #23 of the comic book series. Longtime comic readers instantly recognized the team as a rather on-the-nose parody of Marvel’s X-Men characters. As if to hammer this point home, the team was led by a follically-challenged benefactor and also spawned several offshoot supe teams, including G-Wiz, G-Style, G-Force, etc. Following a G-Man’s public suicide, The Boys sent Hughie undercover as a new recruit to investigate. Unfortunately, the outfit he had to wear once again made him the team’s laughingstock. You can check out an image of Hughie in costume as “Bagpipe” below.
Hughie’s supe alias was an obvious reference to his Scottish nationality in the comics. But since Quaid plays the character as an American on the TV show, this would presumably have to be changed. Right now, it doesn’t look like any “heroes” from the G-franchise will make an appearance in The Boys’ upcoming second season. The only new supe confirmed to be debuting on the show this year is Stormfront, played by Aya Cash.
The Boys season 2 will hit Amazon Prime this summer.
