The CW Releases the First Promo Image For Superman and Lois

Earlier today, it was reported that The CW is targeting a January 2021 return date for its Arrowverse shows, with the new Superman and Lois series debuting that month as well. Following this announcement, the network launched the official Superman and Lois Twitter account and sent out its first tweet: a poster for the series that also confirms its winter premiere date. You can check it out for yourself below.

The poster shows Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in character as Superman and Lois Lane against the backdrop of a darkening Metropolis skyline. Additionally, The Daily Planet’s familiar globe logo is visible on the right-hand side, which all but guarantees that a lot of scenes will take place inside Lois and Clark’s famous workplace. The image doesn’t reveal much, but that’s to be expected. Superman and Lois hadn’t even begun filming its pilot episode when the COVID-19 outbreak halted production on all Arrowverse series.

Regardless, the producers have continued to fill out the show’s supporting cast over the last several weeks. Recent additions include Dylan Walsh as Sam Lane; Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang; Erik Valdez as Lana’s husband, Kyle Cushing; Wolé Parks as the Stranger; and Inde Navarrette as Lana’s daughter, Sarah Cushing. The cast also includes Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin as Clark and Lois’ teenage sons, Jonathan and Jordan Kent.

Although the Arrowverse is going dark for at least another seven months, The CW appears to have a lot of confidence in Superman and Lois. The network just revealed plans for a two-hour crossover featuring Superman and Lois and Batwoman.
