REPORT: Ruby Rose’s Batwoman Exit Wasn’t Entirely Her Call

Heading into its second season, Batwoman was poised to be one of the Arrowverse’s flagship series. The CW even lined up a crossover between Batwoman and Superman and Lois. However, fans of the series were shocked earlier this week when Batwoman herself, Ruby Rose, exited the series. Now, TVLine has shed some light Rose’s Batwoman departure. The report also suggests that it wasn’t entirely Rose’s call to make.

“It wasn’t 100-percent her decision,” according to an unnamed source working on Batwoman.  “It was a breakup. She wasn’t happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned, if they parted ways. It just wasn’t a good fit.”

Last fall, Rose also shared the news that she had been badly hurt while performing a stunt. She also noted that she needed emergency surgery to repair two herniated discs. That was probably a contributing factor to her departure as well.
