Netflix has just released the official trailer for the fifth season of Lucifer. Season 4’s finale saw the reluctant return to Hell of Tom Ellis’ Lucifer, but now it seems that he managed to find a way back to Earth. Actually, the trailer reveals that the one returning in Los Angeles is Lucifer’s twin brother, Michael, who is ready to steal the earthly life of the Prince of Hell. The trailer also features a few familiar faces, like Lauren German’s Detective Chloe Decker, who is looking for the help of Maze to overcome the heartbreaking departure of her partner. Eventually, the real Lucifer seems to find a way back, looking for a confrontation with Michael over his brother’s behavior.

The official synopsis of Lucifer Season 5 reads:
“Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. In the stunning and satisfying fifth season of Lucifer, the stakes are higher than ever. Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question, ‘will they or won’t they?'”
The new adventures of Lucifer are coming on Netflix on August 21. The streaming service will also produce a sixth and final season of the show.
