Netflix Renews Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous For Season 2

Jurassic World: Dominion was recently pushed back to 2022. But luckily, fans will still be able to return to Isla Nublar next year. Netflix has officially ordered a second season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

Camp Cretacous’ first season premiered on Netflix last month and tied directly into the first Jurassic World movie. The series follows six teens chosen to explore a new adventure camp on the other side of Isla Nublar. Unfortunately, their trip begins just as the island’s prehistoric beasts are set loose, leaving them stranded and cut off from the outside world. Director Colin Trevorrow executive produces Camp Cretaceous alongside Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall. Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley act as the series’ showrunners.

News of the season 2 renewal was confirmed during a virtual New York Comic Con panel held earlier today. Trevorrow, Kreamer, consulting producer Zack Stentz, story editor Josie Campbell, and staff writers Sheela Shrinivas, Rick Williams and Bethany Armstrong Johnson were all in attendance. When the new season came up, Kreamer teased that things will be “infinitely worse” for the young characters when the series returns. And because there’s a three-year gap between Jurassic World and its sequel, Fallen Kingdom, there’s even more ground to cover.

Netflix also released a new teaser trailer for the new episodes. You can watch that, as well as the full NYCC panel, below. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will return in 2021.
