Pedro Pascal Reveals His Initial Maxwell Lord and Baby Yoda Reactions

Since portraying Oberyn Martell in HBO’s Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal has become one of the biggest names in genre fare. Lately, he’s best known as Din Djarin in Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian. He will resume his iconic role in just a few days, as the sophomore season of the show will debut on Oct. 30. But in a recent interview with Variety, he confessed his awareness that he is not the biggest star of the show.

“Literally, my eyes following left to right, up and down, and, boom, Baby Yoda close to the end of the first episode,” he said. “That was when I was like, ‘Oh, yep, that’s a winner!’”

But Pascal is also playing the bad guy in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 movie, and director Patty Jenkins thinks it will propel him to even greater superstardom. In the same interview, he also explained he filled his script with photocopies of Maxwell Lord from the comic books. Photocopies that Pascal liked to cover with insults for the villainous character.

“I felt like I had wake myself up again in a big way,” he added. “This was just a practical way of, like, instead of going home tired and putting Netflix on, [I would] actually deal with this physical thing, doodle and think about it and run it.”

According to Warner Bros.’ plans, Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on Christmas Day.
