The CW’s Superman and Lois Series Adds Stacey Farber To the Cast

The CW’s Superman and Lois Series Adds Stacey Farber

A veteran of Degrassi: The Next Generation is joining the cast of Superman and Lois. The Wrap is reporting that Stacey Farber will have a recurring role on the new show.

In addition to her seven-year stint on Degrassi, Farber has also appeared on a variety of other Canadian TV series like 18 to Life, Saving Hope, and Diggstown. Stateside, she has shown up on episodes of Cult, Schitt’s Creek, and Grace and Frankie.

Farber will appear on Superman and Lois as Leslie Larr. Her character is described as “the right hand to one of the most influential people on the planet, she’s gone from a young, idealistic dreamer to a hardened, world-worn dream killer. Athletic, strong… and oftentimes heartless.” The Wrap speculates that this “influential” person might be Lex Luthor, but there’s no way of knowing that for sure.

Additionally, the report notes that the character’s name is likely a reference to Lesla-Lar. In DC’s comic book universe, Lesla-Lar was an obscure Kryptonian villain who became envious of Supergirl’s fame while trapped in the bottle city of Kandor. In a four-issue storyline published in Action Comics in the early ‘60s, she transported Supergirl to Kandor. There, she stole the Girl of Steel’s powers and assumed her identity on Earth. Unfortunately, the story didn’t make much of an impact, because Lesla-Lar hasn’t appeared in the comics since 1981.

After facing production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, Superman and Lois finally began filming this week. The series will premiere on The CW in 2021.
