Jensen Ackles Reveals His Supernatural Connection to The Boys

Now that Supernatural has wrapped, Jensen Ackles can focus on his role in the upcoming third season of The Boys. After fifteen years, Ackles had to step out of the boots of Dean Winchester, the demon hunter he portrayed in The CW horror fantasy. Or so it seemed. While talking with EW, the actor revealed an unexpected coincidence with the footwear he will don on The Boys set.

“I somehow managed to end up with the same kind of boots for Soldier Boy that I wore as Dean Winchester,” he said. “Different color but same boot. They had given me a variety [of boots], I just immediately looked at them, and I was chuckling. I was like, ‘Well, I can tell you which ones I know work.'”

In the comics, Soldier Boy is a sort of parody of Marvel’s Captain America. Like Steve Rogers, the member of the Seven has superhuman strength and speed, is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and uses a shield as a melee weapon. Unlike his Avengers counterpart, however, Soldier Boy is a coward. Still, since the show differs a fair bit from the source material, the character could undergo some changes.

Amazon has yet to set a debut date for The Boys Season 3.
