Stargirl fans will have to wait for just a little longer to see their favorite superheroine back in action. However, Courtney Whitmore and her band of superpowered friends will return this year. The CW has teased a summer release for Stargirl‘s new adventures with a brief video . The television network will exclusively air the season, officially bringing the heroine into the CWVerse, while the first one premiered on DC Universe. At the time, The CW and DC Universe reached a deal where the television network broadcast each episode the day after it premiered on the defunct streaming service. Given the series’ warm reception, The CW picked up the show in July 2020.

The first season saw Stargirl reforming a new Justice Society of America and clashing with the Injustice Society of America members. The sophomore season will see Brec Bassinger reprising her role as Stargirl besides Luke Wilson’s Pat Dugan, Yvette Monreal’s Yolanda Montez, Anjelika Washington’s Beth Chapel, and the rest of the cast. The upcoming Season 2 will also see a few new faces on the show, including John Wesley Shipp, who will guest-star as Golden Age Flash in a few episodes.
Stargirl Season 2 is still in production. The CW has yet to announce an official release date, but it will be in the summer.
