Kevin Feige Addresses the Potential Returns of Marvel’s Netflix Heroes

Back in 2018 and 2019, Netflix cancelled Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. However, it was widely reported that the rights would revert back to Marvel after two years. So far, Marvel Studios hasn’t signaled any plans to use the former Defenders. And rumors about Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home remain rumors…for now. Regardless, Marvel’s Kevin Feige seems open to welcoming the Netflix heroes back into the fold.

Via Deadline, Feige was asked about the possibility of bringing Jessica Jones and the rest back at the Television Critics Association Press Tour. Feige’s response was positive, but non-committal. He also cast doubt on whether the rights have fully reverted.

“I think we probably could do it, I think a lot of that stuff comes back to us,” said Feige. “There’s always rumors online about things reverting, sometimes that’s true, sometimes it’s not, but I’m not exactly sure of the exact contracts but perhaps someday.”

According to Decider’s Alex Zalben, Feige was also asked why his approach to Marvel television was more successful than the earlier shows.

“I think there are legions of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans, and Daredevil fans, and Jessica Jones fans, and Luke Cage fans who would disagree with you,” replied Feige.
