Paul Bettany Admits That WandaVision’s Final Cameo is [Spoiler]

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for WandaVision’s final episode!

A few weeks ago, Paul Bettany set the WandaVision rumors into overdrive when he told Barstool Sports that there was an unannounced cameo coming up. “I work with this actor that I have always wanted to work with, and we have fireworks together,” related Bettany. “The scenes are great, and I think people will be really excited. I’ve always wanted to work with this guy…and the scenes are pretty intense.”

That may have led fan expectations to get too high for the finale, with rumors suggesting members of the X-Men, Nightmare, Dr. Strange, and more. However. Bettany’s recent appearance on Good Morning America set the record straight. Via CBR, Bettany admitted that the cameo villain is himself.

“You know when you think something is going to be funny, and you say it, and you actually panic about it, which is what I did because fans started guessing who it might be,” related Bettany. “They were guessing people like Benedict Cumberbatch or Patrick Stewart and I was thinking, ‘My god that’s a good idea.’ They will be so disappointed when they find out it’s me.”

The mid-credits scene in episode 8 revealed that the original Vision has been revived. However, this new White Vision isn’t the one who has been in WandaVision all along. One of the bigger surprises of episode 8 was that Wanda never stole the Vision’s body. Instead, her own powers created a new version of her deceased lover.

Naturally, this also means that White Vision and Wanda’s Vision will face off, as expected. Bettany did promise “fireworks.” Whether that will satisfy fans remains to be seen.

The ninth and final episode of WandaVision will hit Disney+ on Friday, March 5.
