Patton Oswalt Still Wants to Portray M.O.D.O.K. in the MCU

Last weekend, the first season of M.O.D.O.K. debuted on Hulu. The show focuses on the misadventures of one of the most peculiar Marvel villains, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. Patton Oswalt lends his voice to the title character, with the veteran actor and comedian also involved as a producer together with Jordan Blum. As much fun as the show might be, there is no news about it being renewed for a sophomore season for now. Even so, the producers have plenty of plans for their big-headed antihero.

“We have a lot of plans and places we want to go with the [show’s] characters, as well as characters in the Marvel universe we want to play with,” Blum said while talking with The Ringer. “We are very optimistic. I know Hulu is very happy with the show, so we’ll wait and see how it goes.”

The same interview asked Oswalt if he would like to play a less comedic version of the charismatic antihero in a live-action movie. The answer was, “Oh, hell yeah,” obviously. However, it doesn’t look like there are any disclosed plans for M.O.D.O.K. to debut in the MCU at the moment. Should Oswalt get the role, he would become the first in the MCU to portray the live-action version of an animated character previously voiced by the same actor.

The 10-episode first season of M.O.D.O.K. is available for binge-watching on Hulu.
