Prepare to enter The Dreaming. Netflix’s adaptation of The Sandman is apparently further along than we thought. Neil Gaiman, the writer of DC’s Sandman comic, is executive producing the new series for Netflix. As part of Netflix’s Geeked Week, Gaiman hosted a brief behind-the-scenes look at the impressive sets and props for the series. Additionally, one of the highlights is the large set where Morpheus spent decades as a captive.
Tom Sturridge stars in the series as Morpheus, the Dream King. After making his escape, Morpheus “tries to fix all the cosmic and human mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.” Former Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie will also appear in the series as Lucifer, the ruler of Hell. Both Sturridge and Christie also appeared in the video that you can see below.

“It’s like waling around inside your own dream,” said Gaiman in the clip. “This is Sandman made for people who love Sandman by people who love Sandman.”
Allan Heinberg is the showrunner and executive producer of The Sandman. David S. Goyer is also executive producing and co-writing the series with Heinberg and Gaiman.
Netflix hasn’t announced a date for The Sandman. However, a 2022 launch doesn’t seem out of the question.
