For more than two years, Amazon has been hard at work on bringing Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time fantasy novels to the small screen. And in just a few months, fans of the books will finally get to decide if the show was worth the wait. The official Wheel of Time Twitter account just posted a new teaser for the series confirming its 2021 premiere window. It also gives us a look at the new logo for the adaptation. Previously, Amazon released a pair of clips spotlighting two of the show’s main characters: Moiraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike) and al’Lan Mandragoran (Daniel Henney). But if the show really is hitting the platform by the end of the year, it probably won’t be long before a proper trailer makes its way online. (And Comic-Con@Home is right around the corner…).

The Wheel of Time began filming in late 2019, though its production wasn’t exactly an easy one. The show was forced to suspend its Prague shoot the following March once the coronavirus pandemic came along. Regardless, the cast and crew were able to resume work on the series later in the year. And clearly, Amazon likes what they’ve seen so far, because the show has already been renewed for another season.
Jordan launched the Wheel of Time saga in 1990 with the series’ first book, The Eye of the World. He later published 10 sequels and one prequel until his death in 2007, after which the remaining three books in the series were completed by author Brandon Sanderson. Rafe Judkins is spearheading the TV series for Amazon.
