It’s no secret that Rick Sanchez hates his son-in-law, Jerry Smith. The last leisure time they spent together in “The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy” almost got both of them killed. Regardless, this weekend’s new episode of Rick and Morty is bringing back “guys night.” Much to Beth’s surprise, and also disbelief, Rick and Jerry are seemingly friends now.
However, there’s something more nefarious to this turn than even Beth suspects. Because Rick needs Jerry for something that only he can provide. Suffice to say, there’s going to be Hell to pay.

Apparently, this is the Hellraiser-inspired episode that popped up in the season 5 trailers. And these deviant demons find unexpected joy while spending time with Jerry. This also helps Rick pay off a debt that he owes the Cenobite-like demons. But we suspect that this will inevitably go bad, thanks to Jerry’s ineptitude. Meanwhile, back at the Smith house, Morty and Summer have a new common purpose. They want to befriend the new kid in school before he realizes that they’re losers.
Rick and Morty season 5 episode 5 will premiere on Adult Swim this Sunday, July 18.
