What If…? Gives Captain Carter Her Own Character Poster

Next week, Marvel’s What If…? animated series will begin with a new take on the First Avenger. In this alternate timeline, Steve Rogers never became Captain America. Instead, Peggy Carter was chosen to take the super soldier serum. She also went on to become the heroine of World War II: Captain Carter. However, Peggy’s adventures may still take a darker turn.

Disney+ has released one of the first character posters from What If…?, which you can see below. The image was created by artist Freya Betts.

Via ComicBook, What If…? producer Brad Winderbaum indicated that this incarnation of Peggy won’t be a one-off.

“And we realized as we started developing the second season that Captain Carter was going to be the character who we would revisit in every season and continue that adventure,” said Winderbaum. “Obviously, we’re telling a story on a giant multiversal canvas so you never really know who’s going to pop up where and when. It’s very much an anthology, but there’s always opportunity for fun connections to be made”

What If…? will premiere next Wednesday, August 11 on Disney+.
