Bridget Regan Cast as Poison Ivy in Batwoman Season 3

Pamela Isley is making her way to The CW’s Arrowverse. According to Variety, Bridget Regan has joined the cast of Batwoman’s third season as Poison Ivy.

The show will re-imagine Batman’s longtime foe as a former botany student at Gotham University who later became “a passionate, brilliant scientist with a mind for changing the world for the better.” But when her colleague (Jason Woodrue in the comics) injected her with various plant toxins, she developed botany-based powers that gave her control over plant life along with the ability to secrete pheromones that made others do her bidding.

In Batwoman’s universe, Ivy has been “wiped off the board” for several years. But now she’s back, forcing Ryan Wilder and her team to prepare themselves for her return.

Most recently, Regan appeared on Spectrum Originals’ Paradise Lost series. She also had a recurring role on The CW’s Jane the Virgin and was part of the main cast of The Last Ship for its final three seasons on TNT. Regan last appeared in the superhero realm when she played Dottie Underwood on Marvel’s Agent Carter.

Regan will be the fifth actress to play Poison Ivy in live-action. Uma Thurman originated the role in Batman & Robin in 1997. Years later, Claire Foley began playing a younger version of the character on Gotham. However, she didn’t stick with the series past its third season premiere. Maggie Geha took over as Ivy in seasons 3 and 4, and was later replaced by Peyton List.

Batwoman season 3 will premiere on October 13 on The CW.
