Humanity is Tested in the New Trailer For Apple TV+’s Invasion

Foundation isn’t the only epic sci-fi adventure hitting Apple TV+ this fall. The streaming service is also gearing up for the premiere of Invasion, another new show that traces the fallout of an extraterrestrial encounter that also brings out humanity’s worst instincts. Apple has just released a new full-length trailer for the series, which you can view below.

In this universe, the aliens’ arrival on Earth is preceded by a series of bizarre occurrences happening all over the planet, from power outages to infrastructure collapses. It later turns out that all these seemingly random events are orchestrated by the aliens themselves. As if that weren’t bad enough, the fallout from the invasion pits the members of the human race against each other as they struggle to survive amid the ongoing catastrophe. It also looks like the series will follow multiple groups of humans around the world, using subtitles whenever necessary.

The show also features a diverse cast led by Sam Neill, who plays an aging sheriff investigating mysterious crop circles. Other performers include Shamier Anderson, Golshifteh Farahani, Firas Nassar, and Shioli Kutsuna. Simon Kinberg, known for his work on 20th Century’s X-Men films, co-created the series with David Weil. Previously, Weil created Amazon’s Hunters and Solos. Jakob Verbruggen, a veteran of TNT’s The Alienist, is also involved with the series as a director.

Invasion will debut its first three episodes on Apple TV+ on October 22. The remaining seven episodes of the season will subsequently be released on the platform every Friday.
